Lyndon Johnson's "flower girl" ad

The ad below has been described as the most famous political ad ever made, and it aired only once in September of 1964. The spot was created for the Lyndon Johnson campaign as a way to warn against the dangers of exploding children. Apparently little girls would just suddenly blow up unexpectedly, and people were becoming concerned. Okay, actually the ad was anti-nuclear war and not-so-subtly implied that a vote for Barry Goldwater would result in the end of the world. The ad was pulled due to criticism, but its effect was still felt by both voters and the Goldwater campaign. The quality of the video isn't the best, but it's still an interesting piece of history.
